Masters player Profile
- Born in Scott, Saskatchewan on Christmas Day, 1921, Dorothy has been a fixture in the world of badminton for almost 60 years.
- Dorothy has excelled at each and every aspect of badminton. As a player she has numerous titles at the senior and masters level. She is also an NCCP certified level 3 coach and an International Badminton Federation certified umpire. But her greatest contributions have been as a builder in the sport. She has already been inducted into the Canadian Olympic Sports Hall of Fame in 1977 as a builder in Badminton.
- Dorothy was an integral part of the development of Ontario’s coaching program, which became a prototype for the national program. She was also a member of the first committee for research and implementation of a national official’s organization and was involved in designing the national referee course. She has spent numerous years on the Boards of Directors of Toronto and District, the Ontario Badminton Association and even 3 years (81-84) as the Badminton Canada President. She has also worked at the international level as a councilor for the IBF and in 1991 received their prestigious Distinguished Service Award. She has been given lifetime member status in the OBA, Badminton Canada and the IBF.
