Ottawa Badminton Players conducted their own campaign to “own the podium” bring home a record five medals from the OFSSA Badminton Championships held at Strafford. The Ottawa players collected three gold’s, one silver and one bronze from the five events. Led by Bell High players, Ottawa won gold in mixed doubles: Chisato Isobe and Oliver Cowley, gold in men’s doubles: Corey Hum and Kevin Tseng, and silver in ladies singles, by younger sister Annie Tzeng. This is new record for performance by a single high school. Kirk Hansen of Sir Robert Borden contributed a gold medal in men’s singles and Stephane Lemire and Jean-Kervens Pierre of Franco Cite won a bronze in men’s doubles. The team of Corey Hum Kevin Tseng did not lose a game throughout the competition. This winning performance was duplicated by Kirk Hansen in men’s singles. Annie lost only one match and that was in the final gold medal match.
