The final selection for the ODBA 2010 Ontario Winter Games (OWG) team unfolded in Casselman this past weekend (December 5-6). Overall, 23 players from the OWG training team, established last spring, competed for one of the 10 positions and and 2 spare positions. The high calibre of every participating player combined with the challenging round robin format, which involved three separate stages, resulted in two days of spectacular badminton. When the feathers finally rested, the players identified below earned their spot on the ODBA OWG team. They will continue to train with the other players of the OWG training team until the OWG competition March 4-7, 2010 in Bracebridge. Our sincere congratulations to them on their success and to the other members of the training team who put on a tremendous effort and display of badminton skills and sportsmanship.
