Andrew Zhuang, an unseeded player from the RA Centre played exceptional games despite his tough draw. He had to play 3 hard games (18-21, 21-16, 21-18) against Maxime Tétreault from Quebec in the second round. He Knocked out the #2 seed Toby Ng from BC (21-16, 27-25) in the third round, then beat the #5/8 seed Him Lam (21-18, 16-21, 21-19 ) in the quarter finals and advanced to the semi-finals. He met his strongest resistance (21-18, 21-11) from Sergiy Shatenko, who is his training teammate from the RA Centre and seeded #3/4, and finally settled for 4th place. It was a very impressive performance indeed!
#5/8 seed Andrew D'Souza was unbeatable in this tournament; He won all his matches without losing a game. He took the #1 seed Joseph Rogers in the semi-finals (21-10, 21-10). The biggest challenge he got was from #3/4 seed Sergiy Shatenko, but he still managed to pocket the gold medal in 2 games (23-21, 21-13). Way to go! Andrew!
