Ottawa District Badminton Association is
presenting 
High School TEAM
Badminton Tournament 
Sunday, October 29, 2006, from 2:00pm to 8:00pm 
at the Turnbull School 
The first
event organized by
ODBA for this badminton season. Your
chance to participate in a competitive / recreational mini tournament with your
high school friends.

Format: 
 - 2 boys and 2 girls on a club team play 1
     boys singles, 1 girls singles, 1 boys doubles, 1 girls doubles and 1 mixed
     doubles against a team from another school. 
 
 - Eligibility - all team members must be
     from the same high school. Multiple teams from same high school are
     accepted. No distinction between junior and senior age categories. 
 
 - To ensure a similar calibre of play
     between the teams, there will be two separate pools of teams: advanced and
     intermediate. 
 
 - Matches: BS (B1), GS (G1), BD (B1/B2), GD
     (G1/G2), XD (B2/G2). Each player will play 2 matches against another team.
     At least 2 rounds are guaranteed. 
 
 - Between 8 to 16 teams will be accepted on a
     first come first served basis. 
 
 - All matches will be using the new
     21-rally-point scoring system, 2 sets out of 3. Read the details on www.badmintonottawa.com/
 
 - NOTE: PROTECTIVE EYEWEAR REQUIRED -
     Players in this tournament must observe the new rule of the Ontario
     Badminton Association that all players under 19 wear protective eyewear
     (standard ASTM F803) whenever there are more than two players on the same
     court. The only exception is that normal prescription eyewear will be
     accepted for now. More information and a waiver form for both parents and
     players to sign will be provided at the time players register.
 
Registration fee: 
 - $6.25/person. The team fee of $25 to be
     paid by the captain to ODBA (cheques payable to Ottawa District Badminton
     Association). 
 
 - Includes nylon shuttles.
 
How to register: 
 - Captains of teams should register their
     team by e-mailing the player names to jana.kriz@servicecanada.gc.ca.
     Please indicate the calibre of your team - advanced or intermediate. Entry
     deadline October 25, 2006.
