2015 Pan American Games

July 10-26, 2015

Toronto, Canada

RA badminton club athletes Andrew D'Souza and Alex Bruce medal at the Pan American Games!

Alex Bruce, originally from Toronto but training in Ottawa for the last year, won two medals: a bronze in women's doubles with partner Phyllis Chan of BC; and a silver medal in mixed doubles with partner Toby Ng of BC.

Andrew D'Souza, unseeded in the tournament, swept through all of his rivals until the finals, even beating the top seed from Cuba, Osleni Guerrero, who is ranked 60th in the World. Needless to say, this is a great result for Andrew, and a testament to his potential at only 21 years of age.

Alex will be heading off shortly for the World Badminton Championships in Jakarta, where she will compete in both mixed and womenĄŻs doubles. Follow the results on tournament software: http://tournamentsoftware.com/sport/tournament.aspx?id=196570E9-BF0B-47C8-A3B9-1F766AAABC36 The draws should be coming out soon!

Best wishes,
